I’ve never imagined myself applying to be a TEDx speaker. Honestly, it never crossed my mind—not because I didn’t have something to say, but because I was always focused on the work: the music, the movement, the mission. But recently, I felt a nudge. A calling. A whisper from the future that said, "Put it out there."
So here I am—taking a leap.
I won’t share the full blueprint just yet because I’m still refining some things. But what I can say is this: my TEDx proposal is rooted in something far greater than me. It’s about how music, farming, Passaic, Nigeria, Hip-Hop, business, and community all connect. It’s a vision I believe can impact lives globally while staying grounded in the local. It’s an invitation for others to believe in something that hasn't fully manifested yet—but is already moving.
What’s been happening behind the scenes? A whole lot of faith, planning, late-night calls, cross-continent messaging, and quiet wins.
Alongside my brother, Raheem Da Dream, I’ve been supporting the GVI (Global Village Initiative) as we build a school—brick by brick—in Nasarawa, Nigeria. Not just a concept. Not just a wish. We’re talking about real foundations, physical structures, and digital bridges: a school, a farm, a sustainable model, and eventually, a legacy. This is Phase 1, and we just completed it. Now, Phase 2 begins.
During this process, I’ve worn many hats—consultant, content creator, social media amplifier, financial supporter, and connector. I’ve helped broker partnerships and support from others who may never have even heard of GVI before. And it’s funny… I’ve had many conversations here in the States with people dreaming of opening their own schools. But this? This is the first time someone actually started. No excuses. No waiting. Just bricks, vision, and belief.
This opportunity with Rah opened a door I didn’t expect. And now that I’ve stepped through, I’m not going back.
It’s a huge responsibility—but one I feel spiritually aligned with. And more than anything, I want others to see that it can be done. It takes:
Time
Trust
Finances
Strict business structure
Clear communication
I’m learning so much every step of the way. And if you feel moved by any of this—reach out. Let’s talk. Let’s build. There’s space for others to get involved at different levels, and we're working on creating ways for you to plug in based on your own capacity and purpose.
Because years from now, people are going to look back and ask how they can be a part of what we’ve built.
So salute to Nasarawa, Nigeria. Salute to GVI, to the Board of Trustees, and to my brother Raheem for believing in me—and for allowing me to believe in him. This path isn’t easy. But tell me: when has anything truly meaningful ever been?
This TEDx journey is just beginning for me. I’m going to keep applying, keep refining, and keep showing up—until someone sees what I see. Until the legacy we’re building becomes too undeniable to overlook.
Much love. Much light. And infinite gratitude to those walking with us.
