As we reach the fourth week of September, I can genuinely say that I’m finding a bit of a groove. It's taken some time, but the balance between work, life, and creative projects is beginning to stabilize. There are always the lingering thoughts about finances and the obligations that come with bills, but with a solid year-long budget plan in place, I’ve created a cushion that offers relief from the day-to-day money stress. Knowing that I have a frontload of cash to support any immediate shortcomings has given me the freedom to be more intentional in my approach at work. I’ve been able to establish a clearer organization and routine, which, for anyone who has been juggling multiple roles like I have, knows that it’s key to keeping everything running smoothly.
In the classroom, I’m finding my rhythm with lesson planning, new activities, and a revised approach to teaching. While I’m not 100% caught up with some paperwork and reports due at the end of the month, I’ve given myself the grace to focus on the bigger picture. Each day, I show up determined to create a learning environment where creativity, conversation, and critical thinking can thrive. It’s been about building intentional spaces for my students to express themselves and think differently—something I hold close as both an educator and an artist. The routines are taking time to develop, but with patience and consistency, I know it’ll all come together.
On the content side of things, I’m deep into production for the next few months. I’ve planned posts out for October, November, and December, giving me the freedom to focus on other projects and developments without feeling like I’m scrambling for content. I’ve built a weekly posting schedule that keeps me on track while allowing room for flexibility. From A Moment to Vibe on Sundays to A Moment to Spit on Thursdays, each day has a designated theme that not only keeps my content fresh but also helps maintain consistency for my audience. It’s been a learning experience figuring out the best ways to balance engagement, creativity, and structure, but having this framework has been a game-changer. A Moment to Spit has especially become a fan favorite, as it allows me to dive deep into my craft and spotlight talented producers with original verses over their beats. It’s been a rewarding and challenging process, one that requires the most effort, but it’s worth it.
The journey doesn’t stop here. I’m excited to begin exploring new ventures, such as incorporating toy photography into my content once my after-school program starts. This will not only allow me to practice with my son, but it’ll also be a chance to pass down skills like filming, editing, and set designing at just five years old. It’s moments like these that remind me why I do what I do—for the growth, for the passion, and for the opportunity to inspire others. It’s an ongoing journey, and while there’s still much to be done, I’m in no rush. I’m enjoying the process and embracing the freedom that tools like Metricool give me, allowing me to manage my social media presence without the overwhelm. Much love and light to all of you following along. Remember, the key is in the balance, in showing up, and in finding joy in the process. Peace, family!
